Academic Research Collaboration

CareerBuilder is committed to making human capital data meaningful to society. The potential for new technologies and big data insights to solve real-world challenges in job search, talent acquisition and human resources is evolving daily. To achieve our mission, we strive to work with creative, ambitious academic researchers who share our passion for empowering employment.

Overview

The Academic Research Collaboration (ARC) program pairs CareerBuilder technology professionals and data scientists with faculty researchers at higher education institutions for a variety of collaborative projects.

Leveraging CareerBuilder’s proprietary resume and job posting datasets, ideal ARC projects explore research areas of mutual interest and result in the creation of cutting-edge business applications or findings that further our understanding of modern labor markets and talent acquisition best practices. Selected faculty participants have the opportunity to access our industry-level datasets for novel research and visit CareerBuilder campuses to promote their work and further collaborative efforts.  Grants of up to $10,000 (plus travel reimbursements) will be awarded to winning research proposals.

The program is currently accepting proposals in several areas of interest, including, but not limited to, the following:

Data Science  Machine Learning  Semantic Web  Natural Language Processing
Information Retrieval   Web Mining and Search  Mobile  Computing  Model-based Software  Development
Recommender Systems  Distributed  Computing  Big Data  Analytics  Big Data Infrastructure
