Matt Ferguson, Chief Executive Officer

Matt Ferguson is the Chief Executive Officer of CareerBuilder and co-author of "The Talent Equation." An award-winning leader who has always challenged the status quo, Ferguson took CareerBuilder to the No. 1 position in online recruitment within five years. Under his direction, CareerBuilder has evolved into a global, end-to-end human capital solutions company that outperforms competitors in both technology innovation and revenue.

Through bold strategies, Ferguson spearheaded CareerBuilder’s transformation from a recruitment giant to a powerhouse in both pre-hire and post-hire solutions. He introduced a new vision for advertising, software and services that has changed the way companies acquire and manage talent.

Passionate about closing the skills gap, Ferguson played a key role in establishing nationwide initiatives to help students find their calling and to help workers quickly develop skills for in-demand jobs.

Working with top employers in more than 60 markets worldwide, Ferguson is often called upon to provide insights on the labor market, as well as HR and workplace trends. In addition to writing content for leading publications such as Harvard Business Review and Business Insider, he has appeared on CNBC Squawk Box, ABC World News, CBS Evening News, Bloomberg TV, the TODAY Show, FOX Your World with Neil Cavuto, Nightly Business Report and CNN, among others. He was named to Crain's Chicago Business "40 Under 40" and ranked in the top 10 list of Glassdoor's "Highest Rated CEOs."

Ferguson joined CareerBuilder in 2000, serving as Senior Vice President of Business Development and COO before taking on the role of CEO in 2004. Prior to CareerBuilder, Ferguson developed strategic partnerships for He also started two entrepreneurial ventures, and practiced law at Baker & McKenzie. Ferguson holds a master's in business administration from the University of Chicago and a law degree from Northwestern University.


Kevin Knapp, Chief Financial Officer / Chief Operating Officer

Kevin Knapp is responsible for ensuring CareerBuilder's financial and operational strategies deliver sustainable and profitable growth. He oversees the company's global financial management, information technology, customer care, marketing and facilities functions. 

Knapp is one of the key leaders driving CareerBuilder’s evolution as a company. His innovative approach in applying lean development principles to finance helped to quickly scale a fast-growing company that has a presence in more than 60 countries around the world today.

Prior to joining CareerBuilder, Knapp was part of the original leadership team that launched, the leading automotive marketplace website. At he served as Vice President of Strategy and Operations where he led the company's operations and business development efforts, including building new business opportunities and securing strategic acquisitions and alliances. Knapp began his career with KPMG the global audit, tax and advisory firm, serving in various roles including senior manager in its mergers and acquisitions practice.

As a recognized financial expert, Knapp is often called upon to speak at industry events or interview with top tier media and has authored various articles on the labor market. He holds a master's in business administration from the University of Chicago and is a Certified Public Accountant. He also serves on the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Advisory Council on Agriculture, Small Business and Labor.


Eric Presley, Chief Technology Officer

As CTO, Eric Presley is responsible for overseeing the strategy and execution of the company’s global technology infrastructure. Building CareerBuilder’s technology from the ground up, Presley is a central figure in the company’s ongoing leadership in recruitment technology and its transformation into an HR SaaS powerhouse. 

Presley has driven innovation in organizations for more than 25 years and helped CareerBuilder become a pioneer in applying lean software development principles within its industry. With a focus on delivering impactful business results to customers, he developed a global platform that is revolutionizing the way companies acquire talent. His development team operates worldwide and releases production code from four markets on a daily basis.

When Presley first joined the company in 1997, he was responsible for software development, integrated financial systems and EIS systems based on an advanced data warehouse. He also served as the chief architect of the website.

Prior to this, Presley held a number of technology positions - including Senior Consultant and System Architect - at Advance Technology Corp., a technology solutions provider. While at ATC, Eric oversaw the re-architecting of the DNA platform used in Telco proactive maintenance, the production of a GPS-based vehicle monitoring system and an enterprise-integrated technician dispatching system.

Earlier in his career, Presley worked at Northern Telecom, where he was a lead developer for software controlling subsystems within the BNR switch architecture.

Presley has appeared on national and local news shows to provide insights around the tech labor market and was named one of ComputerWorld’s Premiere 100 IT Leaders.


Rosemary Haefner, Chief Human Resources Officer

As Chief Human Resources Officer for, Haefner is responsible for developing and implementing global strategies for employee engagement, talent management, organizational design, recruiting, benefits, and community outreach. 

Pulling from her more than 20 years of extensive HR experience and research, Haefner is an employment expert who regularly addresses a variety of industry forums as well as appears on national Television (CNN, FOX NEWSCHANNEL, the Today Show, The Early Show, etc.) and radio (NPR, CBS Marketwatch, etc.) programs to discuss the state of the job market, hiring practices and a multitude of workplace issues.

Under Haefner's leadership, CareerBuilder has received numerous employment focused awards including BusinessWeek's 'Best Places to Launch a Career,' Training Magazine’s Top 125, ComputerWorld’s Best Places to Work in IT and 'Best Places to Work' features by Chicago Magazine, Atlanta Journal-Constitution,, and the Chicago Tribune. Haefner also received the 2008 American Business Award for "Human Resource Executive of the Year."

Before joining, Haefner headed up the Midwest Region's Employee Services team for RCN Corporation. Prior to this, she served as Vice President of Human Resources for AGENCY.COM as well as a Senior Human Resources Consultant at McGladrey & Pullen. Haefner has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Chicago and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management.


Farhan Yasin, PresidentCareerBuilder International

As President of CareerBuilder International, Farhan Yasin drives the strategic vision and company operations in EMEA, APAC and South America. He is responsible for growing CareerBuilder’s international footprint as a leading HR SaaS provider, leveraging innovation and deep market knowledge to help companies connect with the right talent. 

Yasin’s tenure in the technology sector spans more than 20 years. He co-founded and was the CEO of DataClover, a SaaS platform for the auto industry. Prior to this, he served as Groupon’s Chief Operating Officer, International, where he focused on increasing revenue and market reach through acquisitions, organic business launches and expansion of existing entities.

Yasin has a long history with CareerBuilder. Before DataClover and Groupon, he served as the President of CareerBuilder EMEA and played a pivotal role in helping CareerBuilder become the global leader in online recruitment. Under his direction, CareerBuilder built a fast-growing business and strong competitive force in Europe, Canada, China and other key markets worldwide.

Yasin sits on the boards for DataClover, RuMe and Big Shoulder’s Fund. He holds a JD/MBA from the University of Denver.


Mary Delaney, President - Recruitment Software Solutions

As President of Recruiting Software Solutions, Mary Delaney oversees the development and operations of CareerBuilder’s global software platform business. A leader with a rich history of building high-growth and profitable organizations, Delaney plays a critical role in CareerBuilder’s transformation from top job board to HR SaaS leader. 

Delaney joined CareerBuilder back in 1999 and most recently served as CEO of CareerBuilder’s recruitment software companies Luceo Solutions and Profilsoft. Within three years, she launched offerings to 11 additional countries and integrated solutions into CareerBuilder’s product line, setting the stage for accelerated expansion.

Before this, she served as President of CareerBuilder’s business intelligence consulting, a division specializing in branding, sourcing and human capital management that she conceptualized and built from the ground up.

Her tenure with CareerBuilder also included a term as Chief Sales Officer, where she tripled revenue for the company’s enterprise and staffing and recruiting units. She also oversaw two acquisitions and orchestrated launches in new vertical markets.

Earlier in her career, Delaney was Senior Vice President for InterCall Inc., a conference services provider, where she developed the long-term company vision and national sales strategy, and grew revenue from zero to 00 million.

Delaney is an employment expert who has appeared on CNN, Headline News, FOX and CBS National Radio and in the Harvard Business Review. She is a fellow at Leadership Greater Chicago and board member of Broadbean, Indiana University SOIC Dean Advisory Board, Horizons for Youth and BEST (Building Entrepreneurship in Science and Technology). She has an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and a B.S. in marketing from Indiana University.


John Lenzen, Chief Marketing Officer

As Chief Marketing Officer, John Lenzen is the chief architect and steward of CareerBuilder’s brand. Lenzen is responsible for promoting the company’s brand around the world, developing strategies to position CareerBuilder as a premier Human Capital Solutions partner. In addition to amplifying CareerBuilder’s visibility and reach, Lenzen plays a pivotal role in provoking action in the market to help drive revenue growth for the company. 

Prior to CareerBuilder, Lenzen was Global Chief Marketing Officer for Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a $17B global technology firm where he was instrumental in helping the company grow an average of 25 percent annually and making TCS one the most valuable global IT Services brands.

Lenzen has over 20 years of technology marketing experience, including positions in corporate marketing, product marketing and field marketing.  Earlier in his career, Lenzen held positions in sales management and technology consulting.

Lenzen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Michigan State University.


Alex Green, General Counsel

Alex Green is General Counsel for CareerBuilder, responsible for managing all legal matters involving the company. In his role, Green develops policies, programs and strategies to support and propel the company's fast-paced growth domestically and overseas. 

Green has an extensive background in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions and litigation management, with an exceptional track record in commercial and employee relations matters. He has also played an integral role in the company's international expansion efforts. Prior to joining CareerBuilder, Green served as Senior Counsel for Household International and McDonald's Corporation and worked as a corporate attorney for the law firm of Ross & Hardies.

Green holds a Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law and an MBA from the University of Chicago. Green is active in the local Chicago community and has served on the board of Windy City Habitat, Chicago's Habitat for Humanity affiliate.


Abdel Tefridj, Chief Innovation Officer

As Chief Innovation Officer for CareerBuilder, Abdel Tefridj is responsible for managing the company’s growth-focused strategy while accelerating innovation across the company’s products, services and software. His key role in acquisitions has helped CareerBuilder evolve into a cutting-edge SaaS organization. Tefridj also leads the development of CareerBuilder’s innovative big data tools and speaks regularly at conferences regarding user adaptation and technology applications. 

Prior to CareerBuilder, Tefridj spent more than 10 years in various senior-level positions, including product management and consulting roles in the manufacturing, financial, engineering and technology industries. He led numerous global deployments of e-commerce B2B and B2C platforms for Fortune 500 companies, including Honeywell, Motorola, QUALCOMM, BP, Fortune Brands and Tyco. Tefridj led several global development teams in nine countries throughout his tenure at Honeywell and Click Commerce. He identified and automated numerous business processes in client supply chain deficiency, resulting in millions of dollars in savings and new revenue streams.

Tefridj earned his MBA from Northwestern and his Bachelors of Applied Statistics from DePaul University.


Hunter Arnold, Chief Creative Officer

As Chief Creative Officer, Hunter Arnold oversees CareerBuilder’s consumer marketing and communications strategy. Known for his nontraditional approach, Arnold is the creative force behind CareerBuilder’s award-winning infotainment. He produces everything from television ads and documentaries to short-form videos that have attracted more than 10 million views on YouTube and helped to drive significant increases in brand awareness and engagement on CareerBuilder’s social channels.

During his tenure with the company, Arnold led CareerBuilder’s rebranding efforts and was responsible for major business channels in the U.S. and international markets. He oversaw the company’s operations and expansion in the Asia Pacific and Latin America, managing sales, marketing, products and business development. He also spearheaded the acquisitions of leading employment sites and joint ventures overseas, helping to build a strong presence for CareerBuilder in emerging markets.

Arnold holds an MBA from the TRIUM Global EMBA program issued by New York University Stern School of Business, the London School of Economics and Political Science and HEC School of Management in Paris.


John Smith, Chief Sales Officer

John Smith is the Chief Sales Officer for CareerBuilder, the global leader in human capital solutions. In his position, Smith oversees all sales strategy and operations in North America to ensure continued gains in revenue and profitability. Known for challenging the status quo, Smith works hand-in-hand with top employers and technology and product development teams to deliver innovative recruitment solutions for companies of all sizes. 

During his tenure at CareerBuilder, Smith has played a pivotal role in helping the company outpace competitors in revenue growth. Armed with industry expertise, a unique leadership style and extensive professional network, he has built a world-class sales organization that continues to capture more market share every year.

Smith has presented at a wide range of industry events and has interviewed with key news organizations to provide insights around the labor market and workplace trends. He first joined CareerBuilder in 2002, and has served in a variety of sales leadership positions including President of Enterprise Sales and Vice President of the Recruiters Business Unit. Smith holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and an undergraduate degree from West Virginia University.


Roger Fugett, Chief Information Officer

As the Chief Information Officer of a service-driven IT organization, Roger Fugett supports CareerBuilder’s global corporate strategies and growth objectives by overseeing the company’s tightly integrated corporate financial systems and order entry applications, customer relationship and lead management systems, business intelligence and data warehouse platform and enterprise application. He also manages the corporate technology infrastructure that includes the network and storage infrastructure, telecommunications infrastructure, desktop support and information security.  
An evangelist for pragmatic agile development, Fugett has spent more than 27 years leading agile application development and integration projects within complex business and technical environments in various industries including human capital solutions software, telecommunications, GIS and business services.  
Fugett is a recognized technology leader and was a finalist for the 2016 Georgia CIO of the Year Award. He has helped to cultivate a workplace environment at CareerBuilder that has received numerous awards including ComputerWorld’s Best Places to Work in IT.
Fugett received his undergraduate degree in Electronics and Computer Technology from the DeVry University and holds a Global MBA from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He serves on the board of directors for PowerMyLearning and on the board of advisors for the Georgia CIO Leadership Association.
